Itinerary

Day 1: Phnom Penh Arrival (-)

By the time you arrive at the airport, our driver will take you to your hotel. Checking in at 14:00, you are free to rest. Meals is on your own expense. Stay one night at the hotel.

Day 2: Phnom Penh Sightseeing (B)

Your day will be started off with a long excursion to the Royal Palace of Angkor. This construction was built in 1866 by King Norodom and owns itself many beautiful buildings. At this astounding Khmer proof of art, you will have a chance to contemplate the Silver Pagoda where is home to a 90kg gilded Buddha image decorated with 9584 diamonds, 17th century emeralds and Baccarat crystals.

Afterwards, we travel to the south where to learn about the darkest chapter in Cambodian history - the Khmer Rouge. Place by place, you will first reach the genocide museum of Tuol Sleng, which was a secondary school until the Khmer Rouge turn it into a big prison.

Back to the old time, many people from young to old, guilty to innocent are captured behind the barns and suffered from the severe punishments, a large number of people had been killed or dead half way. It is not over here, travel 15 kms away from the capital to the execution area of Killing Fields - Choeng Ek, you will see how cruel the Khmer Rouge was when the people reconstructed the mass killing site.

If there is still time, pay a short visit to Russian Market, where you can find many unique stuffs of handicrafts, food, jewels, silks, etc. then you shall complete your second day tour.

Lunch and dinner are on you own account. Stay one night at the hotel.

Notice:

  • The sites of Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda use their own guides, our guides are not allowed to do the job here.
  • They sometime close the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda without official notice for important events. Therefore, day tour will be switched to other tourist spots.
  • The Russian Market will have days off on the country holiday.
Day 3: Phnom Penh – Kompong Cham – Kratie (B,L,D)

Grab your backpack up and ready for the trip to Kratie, which is the town of Kampong Cham (about 340 km, takes approximately 6 hours driving). On the way, you will have a chance to stroll through a little town located on the Mekong bank and observe some colonial houses. Then, you will be offered lunch at local restaurant.

In the afternoon, setting sail to the Koh Trong island situated midstream Mekong river. Right at the time you set foot on this land, it is like a fresh wind and atmosphere is blowing gently toward you. With no hustle bustle urban life, instead, there are hard- working farmers and fisherman, simple cottages and local hospitals, buildings and the view of rustic rural life, this is the dreamy site that would make you infatuated. After checking in at the lodge, you stroll around in enjoyment.

You shall have dinner and stay overnight at the lodge.

Notice: Tourism services haven’t been developed in Kratie. So, prepare for the standard local service of food and accommodations. 

Day 4: Discover Koh Trong Island (B,L,D)

A small island but the experience it provides is way more than relaxing. Koh Trong is encircled by the giant Mekong and only accessible by water means.When you arrive at the destination, a cycling tour is ready for you.

During 9 km tracking around the island, there are many interesting things to see, such as local villages, school, Khmer pagoda, fish farm, garden, paddy field, boat restaurant and many more spots can be reached by tracking path. If you are unable to ride the bike, you can choose to go on foot or on ox/horse cart. Lunch is served at the local house.

Dinner is on your own account. Spend a night at the hotel.

Day 5: Kratie – Ban Lung (B,L,D)

To begin the journey, first you have to travel by boat back to the mainland, then you are able to reach Phnom Sambok on our provided car. This pagoda provides a spectacular view over Mekong River and the surroundings. The journey of 300 steps to the goal is going to be an enjoyable experience.

Nothing to regret after a few hours spending there, you will keep moving to Kampi - the best spot to watch the unique creature of Irrawaddy dolphins. After that, you will have a long way moving to arrive at Ban Lung, which is 255km away and take about 4 hours on car. This is the capital of Ratanakiri, also famous for the name of “red town” because it owns a reach amount of laterite in the soil. Upon your arrival, you shall check in at lovely Terre Rouge Lodge by the lake.

Overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 6: Ban Lung – Veun Sai – Ban Lung (B,L,D)

About 40 km away from your current position, rustic Veun Sai town is waiting in the north. Before visiting our main attraction today, we will stop at some villages of ethnic and have a chance to encounter the minority people of Tampou in Tampou village.

Moving about an hour on car and cruising on the Se San river by boat to the Koah Peak village, the scenery shall provide you the best landscape of typical countryside and fresh atmosphere. Subsequently, a long and interesting trekking is what you are going to take, the experience leads you to Katcha ethnic village in Rattanakiri, where you can witness the burial ground and many protecting statues, also attach to the culture of the indigenous.

Enjoy a picnic lunch during the trip. The journey ends when you travel by boat to Veun Sai and then get back to Ban Lung.

You shall have dinner and stay overnight at the lodge.

Day 7: Banlung – Kompong Cham (B,L,D)

Departure from Ban Lung, you will reach to the next tourist region of Kampong Cham (470 km away, takes about 8 hours) by car transfer, one more time get through Kratie. You will have lunch on the way moving. After a few hours of driving, you will first visit the French rubber tree plantations and its factory. In late afternoon, you are arrive at the destination.

After checking in at your hotel, you will have dinner at local restaurant. Rest at hotel for one night.

Notice: tourism services haven’t been developed in Kampong Cham. So, prepare for the standard local service of food and accommodations.

Day 8: Kompong Cham – Kompong Khleang – Siem Reap (B,L)

The impressive Kompong Khleang floating village is your first destination after travelling 205 km from the early sunrise. The village is famous for its incredible size and the height of stilt houses. After spending time with locals and their crocodiles raising areas, you will travel by boat along the ditch to Tonle Sap lake, part of which is habitats of Vietnamese.

The journey to Siem Reap keeps on when you done with lunch at a local family. As the time you arrive and check in at the hotel, you can buy yourself dinner. Rest at the hotel one night.

Day 9: Siem Reap – Departure (B)

Take your time at the giftshop for nice souvenirs as it is the last day before the trip ends. Then, the car will drive you to the airport. Meals are on your own account. End of tour!

Time travel: Possible to travel all year around.

Rooms are available from 14.00 on arrival day until 12.00 on departure day, room supplement charge will be added for request of early/late check in/out.

Price for infants and children will be quoted as follow:

  • Children under 2 years old: Free of charge (Maximum 1 child under 2 years old travels with 2 adults; from the second child, 50% of the regular fare will be applied) 
  • Children from 2 to 5 years old: 50% of the regular fare will be applied
  • Children from 5 to 11 years old: 75% of the regular fare will be applied
  • Children from 12 years: 100% of the regular fare will be applied

During Peak Season and special occasions, surcharges may be added to the price:

  • Christmas and New Year’s Eve: Compulsory meals would be added during these times of the years, depends on hotels or resorts you will stay overnight.
  • Cambodia New Year: 12 April – 18 April: Extra fee will be applied during holiday.

Visa requirements:

For Cambodia: You must have a valid passport and a visa (or visa on arrival) to enter Cambodia. Our consultant will be happy to advise you on visa requirements.

Your passport must be valid for six months beyond your planned stay, and you must have at least one blank page for each visa stamp.
