Itinerary
Our first destination of the trip is Huay Xai. To travel to Huay Xai, you will start from Chiang Khong – a border town of Thai and then, pass through the crossing border. By the time you arrive, our guide will be ready and ride with you on the tuk tuk. Then, we take the Shompoo cruise and boat slowly to downstream to Pakbeng. While cruising, we shall stop at Pak Tha station to get the boat paper signed. Having lunch onboard.
At Kamu village along the Mekong River, we will make a second stop. In the late afternoon, the boat will disembark at Pakbeng port.
Embarking at 8:30 in the morning, the boat will start the journey to Luang Prabang. During the cruise, we will have lunch onboard and make 2 stops. At the first stop, pay time to explore the numerous Buddha images of Pak Ou Caves (Tham Ting). Then in Ban Xang Hai, a lovely lao whiskey village is ready to welcome visitors.
At 4:30 pm, the boat will be at Ban Don Mai port of Luang Prabang, our guide will take on the tour and move back with you to the hotel.
The first destination we will reach for today is the former King’s Palace, which is the UNESCO World Heritage town of Luang Prabang, also is the place providing us history lessons about the past and the modern life of the region. Many people have recognized Luang Prabang as the best ancient town as in the Southeast Asia, thus, it still maintains its ancient beauty.
With the combination of the beautiful natural view and the human culture, the peaceful and the gorgeous town it is, have always been the features that help Luang Prabang become the most pleasing place to travel in Laos.
Coming up next, the incredible stupa of Wat Visoun and the Wat Aham shrine are our next stops. When the sun is about to set, prepare well to hike to the peak of Phu Si Mountain to contemplate the glamorous sight of the sun and the holy, gilded stupa. From this position, the whole sight of sunset and the city at mountain foot is captivating to be seen.
When it gets dark, we will spend our time at Night Market, where cool and eye-catching handmade textiles of mountainous tribes and local of Luang Prabang are sold.
Rise and shine for an early morning so you can join with the saffron-clad monk’s daily morning rituals. In their hands, there is a black Alms-giving bowl to hold the offerings of the locals, like the sticky rice.
Then, let’s browsing at the Phosi Market, in which lots of offerings like dried buffalo skin, tea and saltpeter among the chickens, green herbs and weavings are on display. To have a closer look at the diverse textiles of crafts, we will visit the Ban Ouay, Hmong Hill tribe, Ban Ou, Lowland Lao and Ban Thapene of Khmu village.
The journey still not ends yet, we will travel to the Khuangsi Waterfall to stroll along the forest dust trail and immerse yourself in the pools of chilling water. Then, drive back to Luang Prabang and take a short visit to the Ban Xienglek and Ban Xang Khong, where are famous for handmade Jute Sar paper.
After having breakfast at the hotel, we will leave for Vang Vieng. Before arriving in Vang Vieng, we will pass through the splendid view of limestone, dense jungles and stop at some villages.
We also have a chance to be amazed by Tham Jang cave, which was once a hiding shelter of locals when the Chinese invaded. To enjoy more the tranquil villages, we will cross the Ban Huai Ngai mellow river.
Breakfast is served at the hotel and you will have leisure time till the afternoon. While taking the 3-hour driving to Vientiane, you will be pleased when catching glamorous countryside sights and mountain landscapes. En route, we will stop for the vibrant Thlat market, where the hill tribe’s trading occurs.
For the captivating capital of Laos, which is the beautiful mixed picture of Lao, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, French, Soviet culture, Vientiane, will make tourists spend a full day to enjoy. Follow the schedule, we shall first visit to the most tourist attraction of all: the National Museum and Wat Sisaket – the greatest temple that still preserves its numerous silver and porcelain images through a long period of time, which also give you the best imagination about the past.
Then, we will stop at Haw Phra Kaeo - the gigantic temple that is gorgeous inside out. The temple was built as Emerald Buddha’s home, its yard was full of frangipani trees.
When it turns to the afternoon, we shall browse at the Morning market’s older part and then heading for Pha That Luang. This magnificently gilded stupa is like a mirror and reflects beautifully the blue sky.
After that, get ready for a sweaty journey when hiking the Arc De Triomphe of Laos, Patuxai. The building owns a gorgeous mosaic on the ceiling, when getting on top, the whole site of Vientiane shall reveal.
When you finish your breakfast, pack your stuff up and then, transfer to the airport, fly to Pakse and Champassak. On your way, you will stop at Wat Phou for contemplating the precious Hindu sanctuary of Khmer Empire. Keep continuing the journey to Nagasang, this time you will cruise to the lovely island of Ban Khone, where Irrawaddy dolphins can be observed.
Take your time having breakfast, when finish, we will travel by boat to Khone Phapeng Waterfall, which spreads 14 km in length to the magnificent Mekong river. One interesting fact, the waterfall had been recognized as one of the world’s purest nature waterfall. The water here just keeps flowing without brakes, especially, it even rusher during the rainy season. In the afternoon, we will travel back to Pakse.
Breakfast is served at the hotel and you will have leisure time. Then, transfer to Pakse Airport and catch your flight on time.

Time travel: Possible to travel all year around however May to Oct will be rainy season. The wet season witnesses the country at its most lush and vibrant.
Rooms are available from 14.00 on arrival day until 12.00 on departure day, room supplement charge will be added for request of early/late check in/out.
Airfares (if any) may change without notice prior to e-ticket issuance.
Price for infants and children will be quoted as follow:
- Children under 2 years old: Free of charge (Maximum 1 child under 2 years old travels with 2 adults; from the second child, 50% of the regular fare will be applied)
- Children from 2 to 5 years old: 50% of the regular fare will be applied
- Children from 5 to 11 years old: 75% of the regular fare will be applied
- Children from 12 years: 100% of the regular fare will be applied
During Peak Season and special occasions, surcharges may be added to the price:
- Christmas and New Year’s Eve: Compulsory meals would be added during these times of the years, depends on hotels or resorts you will stay overnight.
- Laos New Year: 12 April – 18 April: Extra fee will be applied during holiday.
Visa requirements:
For Laos: You must have a valid passport and a visa (or visa on arrival) to enter Laos. Our consultant will be happy to advise you on visa requirements.
Your passport must be valid for six months beyond your planned stay, and you must have at least one blank page for each visa stamp.
