Itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival (-)

Start the journey with Asia Links Travel.

Our driver meets and greets you at Noi Bai International Airport. Then, we move to the hotel for check-in (room is available from 14h00).

The rest of the day is at your leisure. You can wander around the city enjoying the nostalgic ambiance of Hanoi's capital.

Day 2: Hanoi Sightseeing – Water Puppet Show (B)

You have a whole day to explore a lot of prevailing touristy spots in Hanoi bustle and hustle city of over 1000 years of history. We pay a visit to Ho Chi Minh Complex, which is a cluster of Ho Chi Minh’s relics, to learn more about the beloved Father of Vietnamese as well as his humble lifestyle and military activities.

We’ll discover all the attractions including Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Still House, Presidential Palace, and the nearby One Pillar Pagoda.

Then, we set foot in the Temple of Literature, known as the first university of Vietnam constructed in the 11th century.

In the afternoon, you will find it surprising to visit the Museum of Ethnology, which is around 8 km to the northwest of Hanoi center. This museum reflects almost all perspectives on tangible and intangible cultural heritage as well as significant features in the lives of 54 ethnic groups.

It offers you a great chance to witness an inspirational collection of about 27,000 artifacts regarding Vietnamese and Southeast Asian ethnic communities.

Our next attraction is the Hanoi Old Quarter - a place to preserve ancient culture and memory of time. It is a special mixture of its nostalgic ambiance of old-styled narrow streets and the dynamic atmosphere of the modern city.

Moreover, you will be amazed by its vibrancy and a wide range of products displayed through 36 ancient streets ranging from street foods, clothing, and jewelry to souvenirs and more. Follow our local guide to have a gastronomic experience by savoring lots of delectable grub that you can’t get enough of in some secret alleys.

Our tour finishes with an exciting Water Puppet Show - a conventional Vietnamese art with nearly 1000 years of history and the highlight part of the Asia Links Travel itinerary.

Day 3: Hanoi – Overnight Cruise on Halong Bay (B/L/D)

Breakfast will be served at your hotel and then get ready for a scenic drive to Halong Bay - recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage with the majestic beauty of its stunning natural landscape.

On the way to the gem in the Gulf of Tonkin - Halong Bay, we will pass through the iconic scenery of the lush rice fields and high mountain ranges of the Red River Delta. As soon as you arrive, embark on the Junk boat for a mesmerizing cruise on the bay. Lunch will be served on board.

In the afternoon, we pay a visit to some of the most magical caves of Halong. You will be astonished by the very animated and splendid beauty which is made from stalactites and stalagmites. Set your mind free and enjoy the peace of the magnificent bay.

Refresh yourself in the pure emerald water as the ship stops en route. You can also opt to row kayak to enjoy the tropical vibe in this paradise.

Dinner will be served on the board followed by many exciting activities. Stay overnight on the board.

Day 4: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Fly to Ho Chi Minh (B/Br)

The 3rd day of Classic Journeys starts with the tranquility of the early morning and the splendid landscape of Halong Bay, this is the reason why you should wake up early this morning.

Enjoy your breakfast on board while the ship continues to sail to other lesser-known areas. Around midday, a brunch will be served on board before returning to the pier for a trip back to Hanoi on a shuttle bus. Upon your arrival in Hanoi, our private car (no guide) will pick you up and transfer you to the airport for a flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

Our driver will wait for you at Tan Son Nhat International Airport for a pickup and transfer to the city center for checking in at your hotel.

Day 5: Cu Chi Tunnels – City Tour (B)

In the morning, depart from the hotel in a private car to Cu Chi Tunnels, which is a unique network of interconnected underground tunnels of 250 km in length.

This is not only the ultimate shelter of Vietnamese soldiers during the American war but also the place for military activities as well as food, medicines, and weapons storage.

You can also experience the life of a Viet Cong guerrilla; crawl through a section of the immense connecting underground tunnels to gain deeper insights into the difficult conditions that the people have to confront during the war.

Leave Cu Chi tunnels and get back to the city center. Meals at your own expense.

In the afternoon, a city tour will be arranged around Ho Chi Minh City for you to explore the imposing French architecture. Our visit includes the Old Saigon post office, Notre Dame Cathedral, Opera House, Reunification Palace, and Chinatown Cholon.

Day 6: Mekong Delta Full Day (B/L)

This morning, Asia Links Travel gives you the chance to embark on an amazing adventure in the Mekong Delta, which is one of the most amazing destinations in the south of Vietnam. A transfer of 2.5 - 3 hours from Ho Chi Minh City will take you to Ben Tre - our first stop in today’s itinerary.

Upon arrival, we will get on the boat at Phong Nam Wharf for a cruise on the Chet Say River - a branch of the Mekong River. The boat ride will take you along the natural canals under the shadows of water coconut trees offering a great chance to witness the tropical vibe and the authentic life of the locals.

You will also encounter the pastoral life and conventional handicrafts such as coconut-activated charcoal making, coconut-based products processing, and mat weaving procedures.

Then, we will move to a peaceful village nearby. There are 2 options for you to commute: hop on “xe loi” - a special motorized rickshaw or cycle a bike around the village through the greenery and mesmerizing paddy fields. Enjoy lunch at a local house where you can gain the gastronomic experience by savoring the local delicacies.

In the afternoon, get on board again for a trip along a narrow canal before returning to the quay, and then moving back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 7: Ho Chi Minh – Departure (B)

Take this last day of your trip to select some great souvenirs for your loved ones. You will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.

Time travel: Possible to travel all year around.

Rooms are available from 14.00 on arrival day until 12.00 on departure day, room supplement charge will be added for request of early/late check in/out.

Airfares (if any) may change without notice prior to e-ticket issuance.

Price for infants and children will be quoted as follow:

  • Children under 2 years old: Free of charge (Maximum 1 child under 2 years old travels with 2 adults; from the second child, 50% of the regular fare will be applied) 
  • Children from 2 to 5 years old: 50% of the regular fare will be applied
  • Children from 5 to 11 years old: 75% of the regular fare will be applied
  • Children from 12 years: 100% of the regular fare will be applied

During Peak Season and special occasions, surcharges may be added to the price:

  • Christmas and New Year’s Eve: Compulsory meals would be added during these times of the years, depends on hotels or resorts you will stay overnight.
  • Vietnam Lunar New Year: 24 January – 27 January: Extra fee will be applied during holiday.

Visa requirements:

For Vietnam: You must have a valid passport and a visa (or pre-approval letter for a visa on arrival) to enter Vietnam. Our consultant will be happy to advise you on visa requirements.

Your passport must be valid for six months beyond your planned stay, and you must have at least one blank page for each visa stamp.
