Itinerary

Day 1: Luang Prabang Arrival

Upon arrival in Luang Prabang with Asia Links Travel, you will meet our driver and be transferred to your hotel. Luang Prabang is perhaps the best-preserved traditional city in Southeast Asia.

This town's peace and charm, along with the beautiful natural environment and cultural attractions, make it one of the most enjoyable destinations to visit in Laos.

The hotel room's proposed check-in time should be 14:00 PM. After checking, you have free leisure. 

Lunch & Dinner on your own.

Day 2: Luang Prabang City Tour - Cruise to Pak Ou Caves

We will go to The National Museum at the former Royal Palace today. It houses a magnificent collection of items that illustrate the richness of Lao culture across time.

We have a brief guided tour of the spectacular Wat Xieng Thong, the city's oldest temple, where you can see the amazing mosaic "tree of life" made of colored glass.

After that, we embark on an upstream Mekong river cruise, which affords us a 360-degree panorama of the serene countryside.

We'll make sure to stop at the Pak Ou Caves, two large caverns that serve as shrines and are home to hundreds of Buddha statues.

Throughout the day, we'll also make stops in a few villages, including Ban Xanghai, where local rice wine is made.

When we return to Luang Prabang, we visit Ban XangKhong and Ban Xieng Lek, two small villages renowned for their silk weaving and Saa (Jute) paper production.

Day 3: Luang Prabang City Tour - Kuang Si Waterfall

An early start gives you the fantastic opportunity of Family Holidays is watch or participate in the daily morning almsgiving ritual to saffron-clad monks.

This tradition is unique to Laos, being the only Buddhist nation still preserving this procession. From there we continue to explore the local morning market before returning to the hotel for breakfast.

After your breakfast at the hotel, visit the ethnicities and crafts center TAEC, visit the temples of Wat Visoun which is shaped like a watermelon then we continue our trip to Kuangsii waterfall.

It is possible to walk along the top of the waterfall and if time permits, you can even swim in the clear waters at the foot of the waterfall. 

After arriving back in the city, we climb Mount Phousi to see the revered, gold-plated stupa and admire the city and the Mekong river at sunset.

After that, we travel to the night market, where you might find an amazing selection of handcrafted textiles.

Day 4: Luang Prabang - Weaving Village (Ban Na Yang) Homestay

Today after your breakfast, the tour guide will pick you up at your hotel and then take a drive out of Luang Prabang City Center.

The trip will get a drive up on road 13 north for 3 hours along Nam Ou Riverside and passing through beautiful charming points of Nam Ou valley, panoramic view, green rice plantations, and then visit some Khmu tribal villages, Lao Loum, Hmong villages, Nam Touam and Nam Bark food market on the way.

After making a tour far away from Luang Prabang for hours then recently you will arrive at Ban Na Yang (Ban means village + Na means Field + Yang which means Village) is settled in a remote area far away from the town where you will spend your holiday closer to peaceful nature and meeting “Tai Lue’’ and have a homestay with “Tai Lue’’ family and learning about good culture, tradition, and communicating to “Tai Lue’’ people for changing new experiences. 

“Tai Lue’’ moved from Sip Song Pan Na (Now Jing Hong province in China) to Laos probably 500 years ago and they are Buddhism and believe in spirit (Animist and Spirit) from their ancestors for a long time ago.

We will explore the village and get in touch with the local weaver of the village and plan schedule for the weaving Crouse.

Dinner with a local family.

Day 5: Learn & Practice Laos Textiles

Today is your first start of learning course, you will have learned and practiced how to produce textiles and weaving such as the Tai Lue woman skirts, trousers, and family clothes are made from silk and real cotton.

Because of this have an understanding about how to growing mulberry for feeding silkworm, it is very experienced hand-works of “Tai Lue’’ people.

There you will also test the bamboo handicrafts - handmade really natural streaming rice baskets, (called in Lao, Huad Kao, cooked rice stores App Kao, fishing baskets, fishing trapped baskets, rice collecting baskets, etc.). 

After that, you will be with practicing and learning about producing very specially tobaccos by “Tai Lue’’ at Ban Na yang, The Ban Na Yang is very famous and namely on textiles, stunning Bamboo handicraft home-made and weaving in Nam Bark district Luang Prabang province.

Day 6: Homestay (Ban Na Yang) - Nong Kiaw - Mouang Ngoi

After enjoying your breakfast with TaiLue at Ban Na Yang, at around 8:30-9:00 am the trip will depart and take a drive of about one hour to NongKiaw, the trip will be getting through very beauty of nature, local villages, rice and crop plantation, green mountain, huge cliff old historical places of Nam Park district fight in Indochina war.

At Ban NongKiaw (Nong means pool, Kiaw means green, Ban means village) because before there is one green dragon’s pool at Ban NongKiaw it is according to the belief of the people here, but now it’s missing and dried up.  

Ban NongKiaw is located at Nam Ou riverside surrounded by excellent landscapes, big valley, big mountain so you could try to wall crossing Nam Ou River by the beneficial old bridge between  Ban NongKiaw and Ban Sop Houn, after that you will visit the old village, explore Pa Tok cave is historical cave it was used for nurse house during Nam Bark, or Muang Ngoi war (Indochina war), but now it is peaceful and it becomes to tourism sites.

After visiting NongKiaw on the same day you get in a slow Boat cruising for an hour up the Nam Ou River to Ban Muang Ngoi (The old village of Muang Ngoi Kao) where your basic guesthouse is very possibility available here Ban Muang Ngoi Kao you could feed fish by rice or bread, walk around oldest temple and Ban Muang Ngoi Kao. Dinner on your own.

Day 7: Mouang Ngoi Cruise - Nong Kiaw - Dam - Luang Prabang

After breakfast at the hotel, we will walk to the boat and get a cruise down Nam Ou River to Nong Khiaw and then continue to Dam, where your minibus will wait and pick you up to LuangPrabang.

On the way, we would stop at some Khmu villages before heading back to Luang Prabang.

Arrival Luang Prabang transfer to hotel. Free leisure. Lunch & Dinner on your own.

Overnight at hotel.

Day 8: Luang Prabang - Departure

Breakfast at the hotel then free leisure to explore the town on your own until the time to transfer you to departure.

Finish the tour of Family Holidays.
