After that is a 5-7 minute walk to the elephant village, which is also the living place for the mahouts’ families. You will enjoy a full day in the Elephant Camp with adorable elephants and feed them with the food that the camp staff prepared.
The best experience in this Kalaw day tour is that you can see the elephants bathing in the river! You can join in washing them with the mahouts if you wish to.
Playing with the lighthearted elephants may be a highlight of your holiday in Myanmar!
Note: Please note that riding the elephants should be followed according to the mahouts’ instructions.
Besides the interaction with the elephants, visitors can join hands in the forest recovery project raised by the camp.
The staff in Elephant Camp will show you how to plant a regional tree and don’t forget to take a picture to keep this meaningful moment!
Note: This activity is based on the season as planting trees can’t be done throughout the year, but you can still help the staff to seed as they prepare for the next forest recovery program.
Lunch break will occur in the main camp, all the visitors will gather and have some rest before the rest of the Kalaw trip.
Take a tour of the area of the paper recycling project from the elephants’ poop and learn some interesting knowledge about elephants with the displayed skeletons.
Then, we will explore the forest area and view colorful butterflies, birds and orchids in the conservation area of the vast camp. You are free to wander around the forest within the provided time.
At the end of this quick Myanmar tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Kalaw.
