Huay Xai - Khon Teun – Huay Ting (July-October)
Laos River Cruises welcomes guests in the morning after they complete Laos entry procedures.
Our staff will assist you with check-in and take care of your luggage upon boarding. When all is ready, the captain will take ‘Anouvong’ on its way to begin a captivating 3-night cruise along the Upper Mekong.
While 'Avouvong' reaches its first stop, Laos River Cruises' expert tour guide will hold an interesting lecture about the complex tapestry of Laos' diverse ethnic groups living along the Mekong River. Over the next few days, you will get acquainted with all the different lifestyles, characteristics and cultural traditions of the real life of Lao people.
Our upcoming destination is a fairly modern village compared to the villages we are about to experience later, home to 800 residents of the Tai Lu ethnic group. This ethnic group is spread across China, Laos, Thailand, Burma and Vietnam. We walked through the village and gathered for the Baci ceremony. This is a heartfelt Laotian ritual performed by local elders (and possibly monks), blessing your journey.
Our boat continued its journey downstream, arriving at the overnight destination at Huay Ting. Guests will be greeted with a welcome cocktail here, followed by an indulgent dinner set against a backdrop of incredible natural beauty.
Welcome to Laos' memorable Mekong River.
Huay Xai – Kang Hang Yai (November-April)
In the morning, Laos River Cruises picks up guests at the Lao immigration office.
After gathering all passengers, Laos River Cruises will transfer tourists to a long-tail boat to transfer to the Heritage Line 'Anouvong' ship (travel time on the long-tail boat is about 08 hours).
During the day cruise by longtail boat, we will provide you with lunch and snacks on board. If you want to choose neck & shoulder or foot massage, please contact the staff on board for service. Our tour guide will share some information and insights about the destination we are traveling to as well as Lao culture. Enjoy the trip and observe the fascinating scenery and activities taking place on the coast.
We arrived at the Heritage Line Anouvong train around 5pm and you checked in to your cabin. Enjoy a delicious multi-course dinner at the restaurant. If you like, you might consider joining our nightly cinema in your living room and choose your favorite movie to watch with everyone.
