Itinerary of Aqua Mekong Cruise Saigon - Siem Reap - 8 Days
The journey begins with a smooth transfer from the designated meeting point in Saigon to My Tho dock via a private air-conditioned coach.
Upon boarding the Aqua Mekong Cruise, you will be welcomed by our dedicated crew and escorted to your designer suite.
As the vessel sets sail, enjoy your first "Mekong moment" from your California king bed or private terrace.
The evening features a sophisticated welcome dinner showcasing the initial flavors of our Michelin-inspired menu.
Start your morning at the Binh Thanh mat-weaving village or opt to explore the colonial charm of Sa Dec. Visit the vibrant local market and the historic home of Huynh Thuy Le, the legendary lover of novelist Marguerite Duras.
In the afternoon, we reach My An Hung village for a walk through verdant plantations.
Guests are invited into a local home to taste seasonal fruits and enjoy a traditional unicorn dance and folk songs.
For those seeking activity, a 17km guided bike ride through the countryside is available.
We navigate the Bassac Canal by private skiffs to witness the bustling Chau Doc floating market.
Afterward, a van will take you to the Long Son Pagoda atop Sam Mountain to observe ancient Buddhist practices.
Return through the morning market or choose an 18km bike ride on Long Khanh Island.
As we perform border formalities to enter Cambodia, spend your afternoon relaxing by the pool, indulging in a traditional Khmer massage, or participating in a professional culinary class led by our expert chefs.
Now in Cambodia, we visit the "Silk Island" of Koh Oknha Tey to watch skilled artisans dyeing and weaving the traditional Khmer kroma. You can explore the riverbank on two wheels, passing Buddhist temples and stilted houses.
After lunch, our marine-grade aluminum skiffs head toward the tamarind trees of Preah Prosop. This remote village remains beautifully preserved, offering a rare glimpse into a lifestyle that has changed little over generations.
Explore the Cambodian capital in style via motorized tuk-tuk. Our curated tour includes the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda, and the National Museum of Cambodia, which houses the world’s largest collection of Khmer art.
Optional visits to the Tuol Sleng Museum of Genocide or shopping at the Russian Market are also available.
In the evening, enjoy custom sundowners like the "Salted Watermelon Crush" followed by a mesmerizing Khmer Apsara performance on the observation deck.
The morning is dedicated to Koh Chen, a renowned silversmith village. Observe the craftsmanship behind the famous silver bowls often gifted by the Cambodian King to visiting dignitaries.
In the afternoon, we continue to Kampong Chhnang, known as the "Port of Pottery."
Explore this fascinating riverside community by skiff or bike to see archaeological sites and traditional ceramic production that dates back to the 6th century.
We enter the Tonle Sap Lake, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. In Chhnok Tru, discover a completely floating world where schools, churches, and even the police station drift on the water.
After learning how locals manage life in this unique environment, we visit the remote floating village of Moat Khla, accessible only by water.
The day concludes with a soulful Buddhist blessing ceremony, providing a deep spiritual connection to the region.
On the final day, we head into the 22,000-hectare Prek Toal Core Bird Reserve by skiff. As one of the largest freshwater bodies in Asia, this is the last refuge for rare waterbirds such as the spot-billed pelican and the elusive masked finfoot.
After this final nature expedition, we disembark and provide a comfortable transfer to your hotel in Siem Reap, marking the end of an unforgettable Mekong river cruise experience.
